Bertie went into an already approved foster home so he could receive individual care while the rescue considered his future. The arrangement became permanent when his foster family decided that the young Whippet belonged exactly where he was.
A calm place to settle
Moving into foster care gave Bertie the chance to experience a home routine while remaining supported by the rescue. His carers could observe his confidence, behaviour and needs over time, rather than relying on a single meeting.
That slower approach helped Bertie settle and allowed a genuine relationship to form naturally.
The home already fitted
As the days passed, Bertie became part of the household. His foster family understood the guidance he needed, enjoyed his company and could offer the continuity that matters so much to a young dog.
They ultimately decided that asking him to move again would make little sense. The foster placement was already the right home, so Bertie was officially adopted.
Gratitude to every applicant
Congleton Dog Rescue received generous offers from people prepared to give Bertie a loving future. Every application took time and care, and the rescue is grateful for the patience and understanding shown when his foster family chose to adopt him.
A future without another transition
Bertie can now continue learning in familiar surroundings with people he already trusts. His adoption is a reminder that foster homes do more than provide temporary care: sometimes they reveal that the best permanent match has already been made.
