Day One: Building a Permanent Online Home for the Rescue

29 October 2025 ·2 min read

Congleton Dog Rescue’s website began when Jason Brady offered to build and maintain a permanent online home without diverting rescue funds away from dogs.

The need was practical

Social media could spread an urgent post quickly, but adopters often had to search through changing updates to find the current dog profile, application route or settling guidance. The rescue needed one place it could control and update.

Jason worked with Dawn to identify the recurring questions: which dogs were available, how applications worked, how to foster or volunteer, where donations went and what support continued after adoption.

A volunteer project with a clear boundary

The work remained voluntary so the rescue could keep its money for care. That decision also meant the site had to be maintainable: new dog profiles and status changes needed to be added without rebuilding the whole project.

The first version brought those routes together in a consistent structure and gave longer rescue stories a place beyond short captions.

Launch and continuing use

The independent site launched on 29 October 2025. Since then it has been updated with available dogs, adoption guidance, support information, partner recognition and a chronological news archive.

The technical decisions behind speed, accessibility and caching are deliberately not the subject of this rescue-news article. Their purpose is simply to keep the public-facing experience clear and dependable.

What Day One changed

The launch gave the rescue a permanent reference point for information that changes quickly. It did not replace direct contact or social media; it reduced the chance that an old post would become the only version somebody could find.

Day One records the start of that ongoing digital commitment: one controlled platform connecting dogs, applicants, adopters, volunteers and supporters.
