Roles presented at the meeting
Administration required accurate records, prompt communication and respect for personal information. Home checking involved visiting households, assessing practical arrangements and reporting consistently. Fundraising required planning and accountability, while fostering meant daily care, observation and honest updates about a dog’s behaviour.
The standard was reliability
Previous rescue experience was not essential, but volunteers needed to follow agreed procedures, communicate changes and accept only work they could complete. A small team is weakened by enthusiastic promises that cannot be sustained.
The meeting therefore focused as much on limitations and confidentiality as on the positive experience of helping dogs.
