On 9 July 2026, Congleton Dog Rescue clarified the three main ways supporters could help: send requested items, buy rescue merchandise or provide flexible funds for costs that cannot be met with goods.
Choosing the most useful form of support
Wish list
Best for buying specific food, bedding, toys or cleaning supplies currently requested.
What it supports:The selected item is delivered for use by dogs in care.
Merchandise
Best for supporters who want an item in return while contributing to the rescue.
What it supports:The purchase raises funds and helps make the rescue visible in the community.
Flexible donation
Best when the most urgent need may be veterinary care, transport, kennel costs or another expense.
What it supports:The rescue can direct the money to the priority that cannot be covered by donated goods.
Why several routes are necessary
Physical donations are useful when they match an immediate request, but they cannot pay an invoice or move a dog safely between locations. Merchandise creates a separate fundraising stream, while flexible support fills gaps that change from week to week.
Choosing the route that suits the supporter and the current need reduces waste and helps the rescue plan responsibly.
Check the current request before buying
Needs change as dogs arrive and leave care. Supporters should use the current wish list or Support page rather than relying on an older social post, particularly for food types, sizes and medical items.
