Find Your New Best Friend

Adopt a loving dog and give them a forever home

Our Adoption Process

Step 1: Home Visit

After your application is approved, we arrange a visit to your home. This allows us to meet all household members and any existing pets to ensure the environment is safe and dog-ready. Sometimes a virtual visit is possible if needed. The home visit helps us understand your space and lifestyle to ensure the dog will settle in happily.

Step 2: Meet & Greet

A meet & greet is required between the dog and all household members, including any existing dogs. This ensures compatibility and a smooth transition. Meetings can take place at your home, the foster home, or another convenient location. We do not ship dogs, but we can accommodate local arrangements to make the introduction safe and successful.

Step 3: Adoption & Lifelong Support

Once approved, adopters sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee:
Puppies (up to 1 year): £450 - £500 | Adults (1–7 years): £350 - £500 | Seniors (8+ years): £200 - £300
If you can no longer care for the dog, it must be returned to Congleton Dog Rescue. The adoption fee is non-refundable, but our support continues for the dog’s lifetime.

Step 4: Complete Your Application

Before completing the adoption form, please ensure you understand our process. Reading each step helps ensure responsible adoptions and prepares you for the commitment of caring for your new dog. This process ensures the best possible match, creating a happy and safe home for both you and your new furry family member.

At Congleton Dog Rescue, our mission is to find each dog the most suitable and loving home possible. We believe the true measure of a rescue's success is the quality of its adoptions, not the number. Adopting a pet is a long-term commitment, and our process reflects the care and responsibility this requires.
