Surrender a Dog
We’re here to help ensure your dog finds safety, care, and a loving new home
Before You Surrender Your Dog
We understand that surrendering a dog is never an easy decision. At Congleton Dog Rescue, our goal is to provide a safe and supportive process for both you and your pet. Every dog deserves a chance to find the right home — and we’re here to help make that happen with care, respect, and understanding.
Our Surrender Process
Step 1: Submit the Surrender Form
Please complete the Surrender Application Form below with as much detail as possible about your dog’s health, temperament, and background. This helps us determine how best to support your dog’s transition.
Step 2: Review & Assessment
Our team will review your submission and may contact you for additional information. We’ll assess your dog’s needs and behaviour to ensure a safe placement in the most suitable foster or kennel environment.
Step 3: Meeting & Intake Appointment
We’ll arrange a meeting or intake appointment to meet your dog in person. This allows our volunteers to observe their behaviour, confirm details, and prepare for a smooth transition into our care.
Step 4: Transfer of Care
Once accepted, you’ll sign a surrender agreement officially transferring ownership to Congleton Dog Rescue. We’ll handle all veterinary and rehoming arrangements with compassion and transparency.
We understand this decision is emotional and deeply personal. Our team is here to listen, offer guidance, and ensure your dog receives the best possible care during their next chapter.
